Hi! Having a great journey. Wish you were here.

Of course, you are having your own journey. Is it fun and challenging? Mine is both. Sometimes people suggest that being paralyzed must have been a really tough challenge – and it was – but I wonder whether they have been paralyzed and didn’t even know it.

How about you? What is your journey like? Is it a challenging and frustrating adventure? Are you paralyzed in some way that is keeping you from moving to your next level of accomplishment? What is stopping you from moving forward right now?

That is “paralysis,” but it can be overcome.

From last month’s newsletter you already know about my cooking ability. It has always been a dilemma about how our Thanksgiving meal will get prepared. (Cindy, I could sure use your help in the kitchen!) This year my family is most thankful for the fact that I am again going to refrain from trying to cook Thanksgiving dinner. (Can’t you just see me trying to stuff a slick, cold 14 lb. turkey carcass with one hand? Not a pretty sight!) We are so thankful for Marsha Collins, my faithful housekeeper and children’s nanny, who will prepare our turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Marsha said I can help – by keeping quiet and staying out of her way in the kitchen. I can do that!

Kate staying out of the way in the kitchen.

As a native New Zealander, who only earlier this year became an American citizen, I didn't grow up celebrating the traditional Thanksgiving holiday. But I like Thanksgiving because it reawakens our appreciation for our roots. It’s a holiday where families truly do come together.

And now a little commercial plug ...
If you feel overwhelmed with gift-buying this year (remember the tree takes its place in just a week or two), consider giving the gift of encouragement by asking me to send a copy of “Kate’s Journey.” If you e-mail me your shopping list with the addresses and names of friends and family as you would like their names spelled when I personalize and autograph the book, I will be happy to gift wrap (with Marsha’s help) and mail your present directly to them. My gift to you will be that I will knock off 25 perent of the price of the book if you order five or more copies and will not charge you for the postage or handling. (Excluding overseas and airmail freight.)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Fondly, Kate
